i played in a tornament and i got them to mark there ball and i putted from about 10 metars away it was going for the hole the person put there ball back on the green and it hit it and i lost the tornament by 1 shot because the other person rucond it was a 2 shot penltey what is the ruleing
Good Question. IT all has to do with whether or not you asked your competitor to mark his ball. If you did not, then you get the 2 stroke penalty. Rule 19-1. However, if you did ask him to mark and he refused then he gets the 2 strokes, Rule 1-2. If this were to happen, you asked and he refused, I would immediately ask for a ruling because the Committee just may rule a serious breach of rule 1-2 and disqualify him.
