what is the tapping sound coming from my engine?
I have a VW Golf (MK 3) 1.9 TDI.It occur wiered tapping sound (like an old tractor) when I push the accelrator.Some Sometimes it goes off and the engine runs smoothly and a bit of time everything works fine it starts the engine noise does not smoke again.The white when the noise is coming. I checked the camshaft (it is beautiful), timing belt, rinsed, maintained the engine, injectors fuel, run the engine with the alternator, power steering n run but do affect that much. I think it is engine oil pump lifter (planning to change, a mechanic also suggested this), also waan know how one makes a faulty valve or are there other problems. Do you have ideas (for fun responces)
