Ladies, do YOU celebrate EASTER DAY, if so then what does it mean to you ?
Happy Easter Day. Oh yes. I remember those days. My mom and
dad would buy me the best looking suits. My hair was trimmed, and
I had on some genuine leather shoes. I got my Easter speech ready,
and would say it in front of the whole church during the evening service.
The girls also looked so pretty, man those were the days. Easter
egg hunts, Easter plays, chocolate candy. Cadburry bunnies. Boiled
and painted eggs. White lillies and dandelions. Oh, I think I am going to cry. Ladies. Do you or did you celebrate Easter when you
were a child. And do you do this today...............
We celebrated Easter when I was a kid. Since then, my entire family has been born again and we stopped celebrating Easter. Did you know that Easter isn't even a Christian holiday? It's actually a very old, very pagan holiday celebrating a fertility goddess. Even eating a ham at Easter has its roots in pagan tradition. It has nothing to do with Jesus at all. I would much rather celebrate the Passover - Jesus was crucified on the Passover. The perfect Lamb of God. He rose 3 days later. That is what I celebrate, not some silly pagan holiday about bunnies and eggs.
Although...I'm not above buying marked-down Easter candy after the holiday is past. I'm rather partial to Cadbury's Mini Eggs, and I always buy one of the big kilo bags once they're half price. : )
