Leather Tan

How do I get marks out of tan leather boots?
I wore a pair of tan leather boots in the snow and now they have water marks on them. Does anyone know how to get them out?

Soak them completely and scrub them with a scouring pad,when completely dry seal them with leather waterproofer.Then wearing only them come and see m#@$$*****.Sorry about that l started fantasizing.
