Alligator Skin

where can i find a fake alligator skin hat cheap?
I'm trying to make slash's hat but i cant seem to find a good fake alligator skin hat that's not like $400. I have also considered covering a felt hat with fake alligator skin, but i cant find the skin or the hat (in the right shape that's not $400 as well)
oops my bad- i should've been clearer, i meant a top hat
