Adjustable Belt

where do you relievethe tension on the alternator belt on a Lincoln Town Car 87?
the belt wraps around the alternator, power steering pump, fan clutch, and right below that of a clutch that behind it is another clutch for the second. nothing like adjustable tilt and I found the bolts that look like screw tension adjustment I have no idea how to loosen the belt above.
Loosen the alternator. It must be able to slide up and down.
