Stud Snap

remove rusted stud 89 blazer?

Hello I have a 89 s10 blazer and wanted to put new thermostat in it and the stud that holding the wire on is rusted.I tried to remove it but don't want to snap it off.
What would be a proper way to remove it so i wouldn't break it off?Thanks for your help!

PB Blaster is a penetrating oil that works really well. If it is really stuck spray the stuff on the bolt every day for a few days. 99% of the time this stuff works great. If it doesn't work then use a torch to heat up whatever the bolt is screwed into. If it is screwed into a nut heat that up so that the nut expands and the rust between it and the bolt breaks apart. If it is screwing into something else just try to heat that up as much as possible while keeping the bolt as cool as possible. You want the two things to be very different temperatures so that they expand a different amount and break the rust free.
