Ranger Belt
automotive belt problems,on Ford Ranger 2003?
a 3,0 engine on a Ford Ranger,The belt has been thrown off twice in about a 11 month period, The belt looks fine to me so i put it back on, May replace it with a new one ne way, But.. one of the smooth balancing pulleys or tensioners, the one that doesn't move back and forth for putting the belt back on or off, ok that pulley squeaks and is minutely loose i mean it rocks back and forth just a very very small bit. and has some un even black residue from belt and or belt dressing . so doesn't seem to be running evenly. Ok who knows what to do? I should replace this pulley right? how much is one? or really thinking what exactly to do. help from someone out there????
oh and if i replace this pulley, is it as simple as just unscrewing it and screwing a new one on? it looks that eas ne way
ahh i forgot to ask. but now by pricing i assume Gates is the best belt? one for my model truck is like 50 bucks. a alternate brand i can get for half that. but i should go with the gates right?
