Where can I find non-traditional preppy clothing?

I live in Connecticut and am sick of having the same preppy clothes as everyone else -- whether it be J.Crew grosgrain ribbon flip-flops, Lacoste or Ralph Lauren polos, or even Vineyard Vines ties. Where can I find some unique, yet still preppy, clothing that is "unheard of"?

try going to non preppy stores. you can make the clothes preppy.

try to change it up and do something different with classic preppy pieces. try some risks to make your clothes look new.
