What is the movie where a man passes through Georgia on a John Deere tractor to see his brother?

I remember seeing this film ten years ago. It was a critical acclaimed film, too. A man crosses Georgia (or perhaps other states too) on his John Deere tractor because his Lyle brother is sick. Man this guy is very old white with white hair and white beard. I know that this film took place in the southern United States. It My concern for years trying to figure out what movie it is! Help!
